Ultrasound

This morning was my 2nd ultrasound for baby #2....very exciting! The ultrasound tech let us know that everything looked good... always great news to hear :) We got to see the baby's heartbeating at 130 beats/min, and the baby yawning in the 3D ultrasound. 3D is a little weird to see...the baby looks a little alien like as the doctor warned... Crazy to think I am almost half way through the pregnancy! Erin really enjoyed seeing the baby on the monitor moving around... not quite sure if she fully understands yet but all in time :) Will post a pic once Brian has our scanner up and running again....

27 months old!

Wow, time has gone by too fast... I know Erin is 2 but she just learns so much everyday and amazes us with everything she does and says. She is like a little adult....wanting to be so independant.."no, no, mommy...me do it" is a very common phrase these days! lol! I spent an afternoon with Erin trying to get her to ask for things nicely...this is the outcome.."May..(pause), I...(pause), have (pause)...grapes (pause) please? Too cute! I can't believe how fast Erin caught on! So that is how she asks for everything... even if it doesn't make any sense...

Erin is also doing amazing with her potty training!!! I would have to say she is pretty much fully trained during the day...still a diaper at night but that will come with time. She really likes going to the potty by herself by pushing us outside the bathroom door...saying "me do it" as she proceeds to go to the bathroom. We are very proud of her!

As my tummy is growing larger, Erin likes to feel my tummy and press her ear against my belly to see if she can hear the baby. The baby has been moving more and more over the past few weeks, so Erin and Daddy enjoy feeling and seeing the baby move....Too cute! I think this baby might be an acrobat!

I don't recall anyone telling me how difficult it is to keep clothes on a 2 year old!!! haha! Erin is always telling us "warm, mommy...warm..." or "hot...hot..." then proceeds to stripping off every item of clothing... I try most days to keep panties on but it is a struggle... kids are hilarious... once Erin is naked... she tells us she has a "naked bum" and then dances around.... hopefully she grows out of this by the time she is 16!!!

Bee Movie

Well, we had our first family movie date on November 11th. We took Erin to see the "Bee Movie".... Erin was really good... enjoying all the popcorn and all the other families watching too. Then Erin wanted to sit on Daddy's lap, and soon enough... Erin was fast asleep! Erin slept through the last half of the movie... but not because it was a bad movie.. :) It was really good, Brian and I really enjoyed it.

Happy Halloween!

Well, this year was definitely more fun than last year... we think Erin understands the whole candy thing a bit more :) Erin was quite excited to see all the kids dressed up and amazed every time she got a piece of candy in her pumpkin bucket! She would grab a candy out and turn to Brian and I and say "look, look" in a very excited voice...too funny!! We are pretty amazed at how much candy she got from only going to 6 houses! I guess Daddy will have to help her eat some of it :) Erin was dressed up as a cute little chicken and would flap her arms and say "bock, bock" Very adorable, just wanted to squeeze her all night. I will post some pics as soon as I can.

Pumpkins!

Erin loves pumpkins!!! Whenever she sees them she always says " pumpkins....more pumpkins" pretty cute. Then she likes to count them all.... Tonight was time to carve the pumpkins for Halloween tomorrow. It was a little tricky to get Erin to stick her hand in the pumpkin to pull out the seeds and such... "yucky" and a funny look on her face, didn't seem like it was going to happen.. but then Mommy did it a few times and she thought it was fun. So Erin got nice and dirty... yes.. we stripped her down into just her panties... kind of a messy project but lots of fun at the same time! Can't wait for tomorrow! Should be lots of fun. We will just be heading out to our friends places for a few treats and visiting. Will post more pics in the next few days of the big event.

On another note, I had another doctor's appt today. Went well.... baby's heartbeat was around 154 beats/min and the doctor said my tummy is growing nicely :) Feeling much better now, just wish I could sleep through the night without having to go to the washroom.... I guess I won't be sleeping through the night for a long while yet.... :) Erin was quite happy at the appt because she got stickers and a halloween pencil... lucky girl! Anyways, off to bed.

Birthdays, birthdays, and more birthdays!

It has been a busy few past weekends full of birthday parties. Our first birthday party was for Gabriella Miller (Gina & Guy's little girl), who just turned 1 and then a costume halloween party for Jayce, (from our moms group)who just turned 2! Both were tons of fun and we think Erin had lots of fun at both.... as she can not stop talking about the parties :) Here are some pics of the birthday events...

Big Sister Erin

Yup, that's right.... Erin is going to be a big sister in April 2008! We are pretty excited and seems as though Erin is too :) She likes to point to my belly and say "baby"....too cute! Well I am now 13 weeks along and feeling much better than before.... still quite tired though. I do miss Erin's naptimes in the afternoon! My doctor's appt at 12 weeks, the baby's heartbeat was at 141beats/minute. I had an ultrasound done at 8 1/2 weeks and got to see the baby's heartbeat at 168beats/min. Pretty amazing! The ultrasound tech referred to the baby as looking like a "little puff wheat". I will try to post a picture of the ultrasound pic....

Fun in the leaves...

Well, we thought we would take advantage of all the leaves in Gramma Evans's yard this weekend before the snow starts to fly! Erin loves playing in the leaves... she had a fun time throwing the leaves up into the air. Too bad we don't have any trees in our own backyard yet... maybe next year :) Erin also had some fun with Uncle Mark (Evans) this weekend too. Erin really seems to enjoy "stealing your nose" game, she gets quite the kick out of it. As a packed full weekend, we also got to visit with Shawna and her daughter Reese as well as our other friend Jill. It was quite funny to watch the girls play together... Reese kept wanting to give Erin hugs and kisses but Erin didn't really know what to think and kept saying "no, no, no" and began to cry.... poor thing, but quite cute. Amazing to see how much Reese has grown into such a beautiful little girl, as she will be a big sister soon. As Shawna is ready to "pop" any minute to a new baby boy! We can't wait to meet him! I will post some pics as soon as I can. We want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Today's photoshoot...

Here are a few pics of Erin from this morning. As you can see she loves playing with the mini pumpkins!

1,2,3....

Well, Erin keeps surprising us everyday! Last week Erin counted all the way to 10.... well, almost... she can't quite say seven. So if we say seven for her, she then continues to count to 10! So proud!!

Last weekend we also had Grandma and Grandpa Lowe come and visit. So here are a few pics from a walk in the valley. Also Erin's little table and chairs set finally came in, so Grandma and Grandpa picked them up and Daddy assembled it. Erin loves to sit and eat, color and serve tea with her babies at the table. Great gift! Thanks again!

Sentences!

Well, Erin now speaks in many 2 word sentences but has just said her first 3 word sentence yesterday.... She said "More water please"!!! Yay! It is amazing how fast she is catching on to language and finally putting the words together so Mummy and Daddy can understand her a bit more. Erin likes to say a lot of things by using her colors, which she knows all of them very well. Most times it is "blue bowl, orange cup..." and so forth. We are so proud of her! Erin also loves to sing... her favorite songs right now are "happy, happy, happy, happy...." ever since her birthday party... those are the only words she can make out in the song...haha! And she heard Daddy say "okey dokey" last week and now she keeps repeating and repeating it...again, really quite funny! Erin has quite the little personality these days... always seems to keep us laughing and smiling!

The potty training is back in full force and Erin seems to be doing great!!! We keep her in panties all day unless we have to go out to the store or such. She is also very good at telling Mummy she has to go pee or poop and then races off to the bathroom. I am soooo happy she is back in this mode... I thought for a while that she was going to be 6 by the time she is trained! So it is nice not to have to buy diapers sooo often :) Again... we are soooo proud of her!!!

Oh yes, almost forgot to mention Erin's first official visit to the dentist on monday.... didn't go very well. I was hoping Erin would be good since our good friend Jen (who lives down the street and we see quite often) is a dental assistant there.... thought that Erin might feel more comfortable with Jen but it's like Erin changes into a completely different girl! She wouldn't let anyone look in her mouth except me. Erin did enjoy the ride up and down in the chair and her little baby getting her teeth checked but that was all that was going to happen! Oh well, good thing Mummy knows what to look and check for and is good at brushing and flossing Erin's little teeth. Erin's last 2 molar's (5's in dental terms) are just starting to come in this week... so far they haven't seemed to bother Erin too much except for when we are brushing. Well, that is all for now....

Playdate

Yesterday we met a couple of moms and their little ones in Edmonton that we haven't seen in over a year! Erin had a great time playing with Hannah and Jayce and meeting all their new little siblings. Hannah has 6 month old twin sisters and Jayce is a big brother to 4 month old Matty. Needless to say it was a busy house yesterday, but not too much fighting, which was good :) It was pretty amazing to see the kids all grown up... seems like yesterday we were all brand new moms just getting to know each other. Now the kids can all talk, run and have their own little personalities. Sorry no pictures...forgot my camera... I know I am kicking myself for it.....

Always making us laugh...

Everyday, Erin has something new to say each day. A few days ago, we went to Old Navy and they happened to have their Halloween stuff out... so Erin and I decided to take a peek at the costumes. Erin decided that the cute little chicken outfit was the one she wanted. So once we got home, we had to try it on and show Daddy. Well it was just after supper and Erin was running around the house flapping her arms and saying "bock, bock". It was hilarious... wish we would have had the video camera on. No pics for right now, it's a surprise until October 31st! The costume looks very warm so it should be good for the usual cool, snowy Halloween night :)

Camping at Willey West

Well, another fun camping trip but the weather sure has cooled off this month! We only had one morning of rain, which was not too bad considering all the forecasts :) We had a great time visiting with Gramma and Papa Evans as well as the Beaulieu family! Erin loves playing with Chelsey, Rachel and Ian! We had some good walks, playing at the park, throwing rocks into the river and just good company! It was all lots of fun except Mummy came home with a very bad cold... so hopefully the little munchkin doesn't catch it.... it sure is hard not to kiss her!!! Erin has surprised us again with her speaking.... she can know say Rachel, Chelsey and Ian very well....it was super cute because she would always be calling the kids to come play! Just too cute! Well, here are a few pics from our trip... Oh I forgot to mention how much Erin loved picking and eating the raspberries at the campground... they were everywhere!!

The Big Birthday Party!

Wow... What a weekend! We had a big birthday bash for Erin's 2nd birthday yesterday. First of all we want to say thanks to everyone for coming, as well as for all the gifts! Erin is a very lucky girl! We had a wonderful visit with Grandma and Grandpa Lowe, and Gramma and "Papa" Evans... as well as Granny and Nana..... all made the big trip from GP! Thanks again! Erin must be a very special girl for everyone to travel from soooo far away :) We also had Auntie Janice and Uncle Mark, Auntie Kathleen and Auntie Margo! It was a packed house, full of food (deep fried turkey) as well as great company! The only thing was the weather did not want to cooperate with us... so no playing in the yard or late night campfire... oh well... I guess the cold weather was going to arrive sometime.. Actually the day Erin was born, I believe it was raining and about 10 degrees out!!! Not very nice weather for mid August...

I just wanted to post some pics of the party and Erin had a blast as you will see :) Erin loved the balloons, all her books and new toy trucks... not to mention her new little shopping cart and stroller for her baby... Erin and Auntie Janice had a lot of fun pushing the carts around all night.... literally all night! I think Auntie Janice's back was hurting a bit by the end of the night... time for a massage!! Erin also got a dishes & tea set from Grandma and Grandpa Lowe that will go with her new little table & chair set that should arrive soon... I know she will have a blast with her own little table! Will post more pics when it arrives. Oh, I almost forgot about Erin's new little band toys, from Auntie J and Uncle M... Ya, thanks guys, wait until you have kids.... :) No just kidding.... Erin loves her little drums, bells and such... we had a good little "Lowe" band jamming on saturday night...

Well, enough chat.... time for suppper... Mmmmm leftover turkey bunwiches!! Oh, I almost forgot... I made Erin a special cake... a Dora one! It only took Mummy about 6 hours to make but it was worth the smile on Erin's face :)
